Tech Tuesday #26: Hypercube. That is all, have a nice day

Back again after a very long week, and realizing very little of what I wanted to accomplish was actually even thought about during the entire time. Life for you, hmm? Anyway, today may feel a bit short due to my utter inability to be creative at all after a near solid forty plus hours of being awake. That kinda takes a knife to the creative portions of your brain to “borrow” it for awhile for whatever purpose. I’m good until the wall starts talking to me, so let’s get to the news or I may take a nap on my keyboard. Not very comfortable if you’ve never experienced that before by the way.

India has decided to join the ranks of nations who have launched manned flights into space. Recently, nearly three billion dollars was secured to shoot for this goal that is expected to happen in 2016. Seems the mission will send two astronauts into a low orbit around the earth for a week. Should be a fun trip, and wonder if I can sign up and get trained in six years. Then again, “larger” people are only funny in space on TV. Could always bring a camera with me, recommendations anyone? 😛

A new invention is expected to be one of the major players in the fight against cancer. This is a new tech that has been dubbed nanocorals. Personally, I love hearing about new nanotech cause the stuff is straight out of science fiction novels sometimes. This new tech is an improvement on other nanites called nanoprobes that could selectively attach themselves to cells. The one problem that has been plaguing the nanoprobes, that the nanocorals have a step towards a working solution, is they could not report back the state of the environment they were placed in. That pretty much made them semi-useless for use in battling cancer until the improvements the nanocorals bring. One step closer to being able to offer a treatment to something that is the cause of many deaths a year? One word: awesome.

One last little goody I found waiting for me amongst the headlines. The make and model of the first cellphone to employ Bluetooth 3.0 technology. This phone is the Samsung GT-S8500. Wondering what the appeal of Bluetooth 3.0 is? Boiled down to simple terms, it is faster at around 24Mbps and it is more efficient on power usage. Gotta love being able to transfer those ring tones faster without eating your battery alive, or even using a faster wireless link for tethering and getting better speeds with a bit less latency from the computer to phone part of the connection. Very welcomed addition in my book, but I still love my Blackberry until I can afford to buy a brand new Android at least.

I officially take back the “last little goody” part because I found a video that made me laugh really really loudly, and that’s probably not a good thing at 6:03 AM with a house full of sleeping people. Brief introduction, this is a prank pulled on this girl for breaking the guy’s (cameraman) Xbox. Such an evil prank, and I love it. Friends beware, readers enjoy the video.
