The last 3 years PsychoVandal and I have been spending Thanksgiving at our friend Crystal (Matron of Honor) and Mike’s (Groomsman) house. This year was no different and as always dinner was delicious. We were excited about bringing the Kinect and Dance Central to the party with us. Although everyone was shy to give it a shot by the end of the night they were hooked. Crystal’s living room is bigger than ours so we were finally able to play some Dance Battles.
Our friend Dani was so excited about the game that we came back the next day for some more dancing fun. We used Crystal’s flipcam to get some footage of Dani dancing to “Satisfaction” on Hard.
When I brought the flipcam home to transfer the files to my computer I came across two videos from our Bachelor/Bachlorette Party. The first video was of us having dinner at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse and the second vid was of us on stage getting spanked by a stripper. Ah…good times. Nostalgia aside, we were pretty depressed at how much weight we’ve gained since the wedding. That being said I came up with the Dance Central Monthly Weight Loss Challenge.
There aren’t any real rules though each of us are committing to play Dance Central for at least :30 minutes a day. Sounds simple enough right? We don’t expect our dietary habits to change much but even the mildest of changes (ie drinking more water, smaller more frequent meals, less fast food) will be in our best interest.
I designed a chart for our family to track their progress and am making it available for download in case anyone else would like to do their own challenge. The first column is for entering the names of participants. There are 5 available name slots for each week. The second column is for recording your start weight for that week. The third column is for tracking your playing duration (if you can go more than :30 minutes, do it! But be sure to take frequent breaks. We don’t want anyone hurting themselves). The fourth Column is for calories burned and then alternates between duration and calories for the rest of the week.
If you decide to start your own challenge at home, please let us know. We’d love to hear about it and will happily share your progress on the blog. Feel free to email us at LastResort@AMatchMadeInHalo.com1>.
