Tonight at midnight, something grand happens. The clock switches to 12:00?

Yes, but that’s not what I’m talking about. Tonight, the when that time hits, the public will be swarming into stores to grab Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition.
We’ve been seeing a lot of information about how this game is going to “set the bar” on how a “Re-Make” SHOULD be done.
This will mark the second time that Halo:CE would make a statement on the gaming industry.

Today I’m going to be heading to my local GameStop’s Midnight Launch event for Halo:CEA. We actually went up there earlier to upgrade InStyle76’s Birthday present. We returned Skyrim…

yes… I said that…

We returned it FOR THE COLLECTOR’s EDITION!

Your heart sank, didn’t it. Well his was jumping when he got his hands on the Dragon Statue. OK, enough about that, back to Halo:CEA…
I’ll be doing this post in spurts. You get some now… some later…. then more after we get our hands dirty…
For now you get to see the guys dedicated enough to line up at GameStop WAY before they even closed for the night. At 5:30 we showed up to make our purchases.And yes, we paid off our pre-order…

The guy furthest to the right was the first to show up and he said that was there at 5. Four hours before closing… SEVEN HOURS before they open the doors up again for the release. Again… Dedicated.

UPDATED: OK I’m Back. It is now 5 minutes til 1 AM and I have not touched my Halo:CE. I know many of you are mentally slapping me right now, but I told Sick that I would NOT play it until she had the opportunity to play with me. So i’m going to show you what I saw tonight…

6 Games launched tonight, and yes, people were at the Midnight launch to grab OTHER games. Don’t spit out that Game Fuel you’re drinking…
Oh look what you did.

These 6 games are (In no condescending order):

• Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
• Saint’s Row The 3rd
• Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
• Need for Speed: The Run
• Rayman: Origins

Now there are a few more that were released, but I’m sure those boxes won’t be open til the morning…

The GameStop that I visited tonight had a little game to help keep folks busy while they waited.

See the Cardboard Box there? It has holes in it. I didn’t play but I think the idea was, that if you threw a ball into one of those holes, you got a random video game poster.

The coolest part about that… Was these guys!

This group right here is what makes these events fun. Everyone was excited and giddy, and it was infectious.

These events here are always fun. I get to meet people in the area, and they are ALWAYS happy. And then there’s this…

You can see there, I’m not as happy as I was with the crowd above. Don’t get me wrong, Oh I’m happy! Getting the games to go home and play is great, but hanging out with those in the Community is always better.
