I have only just recently started looking into this Black Ops 2 thing. I was as interested in it as I was for the first Black Ops; Which means to say I wasn’t. After fooling around on the Xbox Dashboard for a bit the other day, that changed. DEAR GOD YOU NEED TO SEE THIS.
When Treyarch aired the Reveal Trailer, I watched it. (come on…who doesn’t watch whatever announcement trailers they can?) I was completely turned off by the Futeristic idea. It added a Sci-Fi element that I do not think belongs in Call of Duty. So this first video did nothing for me. After I saw it, I lost all interest.
When I noticed there was new content on the dashboard, I thought I’d give them another chance. Below you’ll find the “Black Ops 2: Behind the Scenes” video with Trent Reznor and David S. Goyer. Yes, Trent Reznor is scoring the Black Ops 2. Also, Screenwriter David S. Goyer is in on the story/campaign. This game’s story will be amazing… Watch.
I’ve enjoyed me some NIN in the past. I’ve also enjoyed some of Trent’s collaborations, (Here’s a few) but when hearing that he was working the score, that definitely got my attention… After watching the video you just saw, I can no longer wait to play this game.
Bungie is always striving to be on the forefront of gaming evolution, but I think Treyach just set a precedent with getting a screenwriter in on the story. However, I think Trent is going to have to work pretty hard to compete with Marty in scoring video games. Sorry Trent! I’m not saying Quake’s sounds were bad… It’s just that Marty’s music is inarguably Epic.
Can you imagine putting them on the same project together? That’s something I’d like to see…
